Privacy Policy
Milan Medway Ltd, trading as Doon Delight (“we”, “us”, “our”), is the controller of the personal data collected through this website. We respect your privacy and handle your information in line with UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Table bookings: your name, phone number, email address, and the date, time, party size and any notes you give us.
- Collection orders: your name, email address, phone number, the items you order and your collection details. Card payments are taken securely by our payment provider, Stripe, on their own secure page — we never see or store your full card number.
- Enquiries: your name, email address, optional phone number and your message.
- Marketing list (optional): if — and only if — you tick the marketing box on one of our forms, we add your name, email address and phone number to a list we use to send occasional offers and news. The box is never ticked for you, and you do not have to tick it to place an order, book a table or contact us.
- Website usage: if you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics collects anonymous-level statistics about how the site is used (see our Cookie Policy). Analytics stays switched off until you accept.
Why we use it (lawful basis)
- To handle your booking, order or enquiry — because you have asked us to (taking steps at your request, and to fulfil our contract with you once you place and pay for an order), and for our legitimate interest in running the restaurant and looking after our customers.
- To keep basic business records — our legitimate interest in managing the business, and to meet legal obligations such as tax.
- To send you offers and news — only with your consent, given by ticking the marketing box. You can withdraw it at any time by replying to any message, or by emailing or calling us, and we will remove you straight away.
- To understand and improve the website — only with your consent, through analytics cookies you can accept or decline.
How long we keep it
We keep booking, order and enquiry details only as long as we need them to handle your request and for our reasonable business records, then we delete them. These messages reach us by email and are also stored securely on our website's hosting.
If you joined our marketing list, we keep your details on it until you ask us to remove you.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data or share it for marketing. We use a small number of trusted providers to run the restaurant and the website:
- Our website host and email provider — to operate this site and to send and receive the booking, order and enquiry emails (this includes our email inbox provider).
- Stripe — our payment provider, which securely processes your card payment for collection orders. Stripe may handle limited data outside the UK under safeguards approved by UK data protection law. See stripe.com/gb/privacy.
- Google Analytics (Google) — website usage measurement, used only with your consent. Google may process this data outside the UK; where it does, it relies on safeguards approved under UK data protection law.
- Delivery platforms (such as Just Eat, Foodhub and Deliveroo) — if you choose to order through one of them, that platform collects and handles your data as a separate controller under its own privacy policy, not this one.
- Google Maps — if you view the map or get directions, Google handles that under its own policy.
Payments and refunds
Card payments for collection orders are processed securely by Stripe; we don't store your card details. Because your food is freshly prepared to order, orders can't normally be cancelled once placed — but if anything is wrong with your order, please call us on 01634 817772 and we'll always put it right.
Your rights
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to or restrict certain uses of it. To exercise any of these, just contact us using the details below. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date below shows when it was last changed.
