Our story

A family-run Indian restaurant in the heart of Chatham — fine-dining craft, a warm welcome.

Vikram Singh Panwar, head chef and owner of Doon Delight

Meet the chef

Vikram Singh Panwar — owner & head chef

Doon Delight is led by Vikram Singh Panwar, a chef with more than 25 years at the stove. He began his career in the restaurant and hotel kitchens of Mumbai in the 1990s, learning authentic, regional Indian cooking from the ground up.

He brought that craft to Kent, cooking in respected kitchens across the county — including the acclaimed The Ambrette in Margate — and rising to head chef. Today he runs the pass at Doon Delight himself, cooking the food he loves for his own restaurant.

His approach is simple: authentic recipes, prepared fresh, with the consistency and care of a fine-dining kitchen.

A family business

Run by the people who own it.

Doon Delight is a family business on Chatham High Street. When you dine in or collect, you're looked after by the family who run the place — not a faceless chain.

We put everything into doing the food properly and making people feel at home. It's why so many of our customers come back — and why we're rated so highly across Medway.
